IMLP Recovery and Photos

My Ironman recovery is going swimmingly so far. My soreness has almost faded and I've done two very light workouts - a 20-minute swim that had me gasping after 10 minutes and an easy one-hour bike to get the legs moving. I've foam rolled a little and will do some stretching tonight. Aside from general tiredness, the only lingering effect is the massive swelling I'm experiencing. I look and feel like the Michelin Man and have gained more than five pounds. I spent 30 bucks on strawberries, cherries and blueberries tonight for their natural anti-inflammatory benefits and have been stuffing myself with raw veggies. Since I'm pretty much hungry nonstop I figure I might as well eat nature's Advil and hopefully speed up the flushing of the fluid.

I'm not quite ready to reflect and capture the race experience in my usual three part report, so in the meantime, here are some photos of my IM journey. An incredible one indeed.

    Weird that you're having all the swelling problems - I didn't have those problems at all at IMKY or IMFL. Hope the fruit tricks work!

  2. Omg, those pics are incredible - scrolling through them makes me totally want to sign up for another IM! The 'ol ticker sped up just seeing the finish line. Curse you, Kristin!
